The motto at Winston Salem State university states " So hard to Be a ram." In my opinion, its so hard not to be a ram. I entered Winston Salem State University as a young lady, and I am leaving a mature women. My journey at WSSU has not only been challenging, but has tested my knowledge, patience, and strength to the fullest. Throughout the sleepless nights, tears, breakdowns, and almost giving up, I can say walking across the stage in may feels like crossing the finish line to race. I went from attending schools where I was the only African American in my class, to being around intelligent, gifted and talented students who looked just like me. Being apart of this ram family pushed me to be more, do more, and accomplish more. Being a student a this institution has more than prepared me for the future ahead, but has also taught me how to serve. Even though my experience was not the best and did not always go as planned, I could not have seen myself any other place.
