Carcinogenesis is initiated by agents that because cancer called carcinogens.Carcinogens are substances or agents that are known to cause cancer or produce an increase in the incidence of cancer in animals or humans. In addition to lifestyle factors, there are other risk factors within the body that can increase the risk of cancer. There are by-products from our metabolism and errors that occur to DNA replication that contributes to carcinogenesis. The damage that DNA endures when exposed to various carcinogens causes significant alterations and mutations within the genome that affects the way that genes functions and keep the body form developing diseases such as cancer.
